2010 ENDS IN GRAND STYLE

This year we had a mixed show season. Unfortunately we had to pull out our trump card for Canberra due to an injury [Jeanette Junior] (Millwood Jeanette A2 Reserve Champion Interbreed Bendigo 2009). We did have some success with our junior team.

On to Sydney where we picked up junior heifer champion and reserve champion cow. Gemma was a little underdone because we had to substitute Jeanette Junior (Millwood Jeanette A2 Reserve Champion Interbreed Bendigo 2009) at the last minute.

On to Bendigo where Elizabeth Fields Gemma B1 (Dawn) was crowned Supreme Champion Murray Grey. We were very excited as this was another confirmation of our successful breeding as she was Supreme Champion in Sydney 2009.

The next day we entered the interbreed, with no expectations as it was a fantastic lineup. We knew that Gemma was very structurally correct, stylish and moderate in frame. She has the best udder I have seen on a beef cow and she is very feminine. This is what the judges were looking for and we were overjoyed at hearing that we won Reserve Interbreed champion for 2010.

The Gemma line has produced 3 Supreme champions, one reserve interbreed champion and 4 Reserve champions all with two animals.

Presently we are awaiting our spring calving. At the moment we have some spectacular calves both bull and heifer. We are looking forward to Canberra Feature and will take a big team next year.
